Kesharaja — The Ruler of Hair

Sanskrit names are rarely idle. Ayurveda called this modest field herb Kesharaja — literally “king of hair” — and Markava, listing it in the classical Nighantus among the plants a person turned to for hair, skin and rejuvenation. Long before follicle counts and growth phases, tradition had already crowned it.

Whole-plant white Bhringraj (Vellai Karisalankanni / Eclipta alba) in a vegetarian capsule — the classical “king of hair” herb of Siddha and Ayurveda, single-ingredient, for hair nourishment, antioxidant support and everyday rejuvenation. No fillers. 90 veg capsules.

YOGIS HERBS Karisalankanni Capsules – Bhringraj (Eclipta alba / Bhringaraja), White False Daisy – Whole-Plant Veg Capsules for Hair Nourishment, Antioxidant & Everyday Rejuvenation – Single-Herb, No Fillers, 90 Capsules 2

What is it

Bhringraj — Karisalankanni in Tamil, the white-flowered Eclipta alba to botanists — is the small herb that grows along the damp margins of paddy fields across the South. This is Vellai Karisalankanni, the variety Siddha tradition ties to hair, distinct from the yellow Manjal Karisalai used for other purposes. Sanskrit gave it a title few herbs earn: Kesharaja, “the ruler of hair.” Classical Ayurveda classes it as a Rasayana — a rejuvenative — and the Nighantus (Dhanvantari, Raj, Kaiyadeva) record it among the herbs valued for hair, skin and vitality. We take the whole plant, cleaned and dried in the Western Ghats tradition, and present it single-ingredient in a vegetarian capsule — the classical hair herb, without the taste of the fresh juice.

What Makes This Different

  • Whole plant, single ingredient. Whole-plant Eclipta alba powder — no fillers, binders, flow agents or extract dilution.
  • The classical juice, without the bitterness. Fresh Bhringraj juice is famously bitter and astringent; the capsule delivers the whole herb with none of the taste to negotiate.
  • Sourced, not substituted. True white Vellai Karisalankanni (Eclipta alba), cleaned and dried to authoritative traditional method — not the yellow variety, a look-alike, or a stalk fraction.
  • Certified base: FSSAI Central Licensed, GMP compliant, ISO 22000.

What It Does

  • The definitive traditional hair herb. For centuries Bhringraj has been taken internally and pressed into hair oils across Siddha and Ayurvedic practice — its very name, Kesharaja, means “ruler of hair.”
  • Studied for hair-follicle activity. In animal studies, topically applied Eclipta extract increased the proportion of follicles in the active (anagen) growth phase — an early, encouraging line of research (animal, topical).
  • Naturally antioxidant-rich. Laboratory assays (DPPH, superoxide and hydroxyl scavenging, reducing power) record dose-dependent free-radical-scavenging activity, tied to the herb’s phenolics, flavonoids and its signature compound wedelolactone (in vitro).
  • A traditional rejuvenative (Rasayana). Ayurveda places Bhringraj among the rasayana herbs valued for everyday vitality and healthy ageing.
  • Emerging angle — wedelolactone. Bhringraj’s distinctive coumestan, wedelolactone, is now a focus of active laboratory interest for its antioxidant behaviour (in vitro).

How to Take It

Take one veg capsule twice daily with water, after food, as part of your daily routine — in keeping with Bhringraj’s traditional use as a rejuvenative herb taken steadily rather than as a short course. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, giving it to a child, or taking prescription medication, consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement.
