Description

What is it
Look closely at this small creeping herb and you’ll see why Tamil named it as it did. Along its stems sit clusters of tiny, pale, rounded pods — so like grains of raw rice that the herb became Amman Pacharisi: “the Goddess’s raw rice,” the offering-grain of the village Amman shrine. Sanskrit knows it as Dugdhika, “the milky one,” for the white sap it gives when broken. It grows unbidden along paths and courtyard edges across South India, and Siddha households have brewed it for generations — especially through the damp, cough-prone months. We use the whole herb, wildcrafted and carefully dried, in a mild, earthy, caffeine-free cup.
What Makes This Different
- Whole herb, single ingredient. Pure Euphorbia hirta — the whole little plant as Siddha uses it. No flavourings, no fillers, no blends.
- Wildcrafted. Gathered where it grows on its own, as it always has been — not cultivated to order.
- Lab-tested. Independently tested for purity, with reports published on our site — because a wild-gathered herb deserves more scrutiny, not less.
- Clean and careful. Cleaned and dried in an FSSAI-licensed, GMP-compliant kitchen in Tamil Nadu. Naturally caffeine-free.
What It Does
- The monsoon herb of the Tamil courtyard. For generations Amman Pacharisi has been the household green turned to for easy, comfortable breathing through the damp and changing seasons.
- Traditionally supportive of digestive comfort. Siddha has long valued this little herb for settling, comfortable digestion.
- Naturally antioxidant-rich. Laboratory studies record antioxidant activity in the herb, tied to its flavonoids — quercetin foremost among them — and its phenolics (in vitro).
- A cooling, everyday cup. Mild and earthy, traditionally taken as a gentle, cooling infusion.
- Named for an offering. Few herbs carry a name as lovely as this one: the grains of rice laid before the Goddess.
