Description
Vilvam Tea — A FounditGood Herbal Infusion
The Vilvam tree is sacred in Tamil tradition — its three-lobed leaves offered at temple shrines, its leaves and fruits prized in the Siddha pharmacopoeia. For generations, Vilvam leaves were brewed into household decoctions for digestive comfort and respiratory ease.
The Tradition
Charaka Samhita lists Bilva (Vilvam) among the *Dashamoola* — the ten foremost roots of Ayurvedic formulation. Siddha Gunapadam classifies the leaves as *deepana* (digestive-supporting) and *grahi* (intestinal-toning), and they have been brewed as wellness tea across Tamil households for centuries.
Key Benefits
- Digestive wellness — Classical *deepana-grahi* leaf in Siddha
- Respiratory support — Long-used for healthy breathing
- Tridosha balance — Balancing across all three doshas
- Sacred heritage herb — Revered tree of Tamil tradition
- Aromatic and pleasant — Naturally mild and fragrant
- Convenient dip bag format — Same leaf, ready to brew
How to Brew
Steep one dip bag in 200ml of hot water (just off the boil) for 5-7 minutes. Cover the cup while steeping to retain aromatic compounds. Sweeten naturally with honey or palm sugar if desired. Best enjoyed warm, freshly brewed. Up to 2-3 cups daily.
