Description
What is it
Amman Pacharisi (Euphorbia hirta) is one of the most familiar herbs of the South Indian monsoon — a small, hairy, low-growing plant that springs up along paths and courtyards with the first rains. Siddha and Ayurveda have long valued it: Sanskrit named it Dugdhika, “the milk-giving,” for the white latex in its stems, and folk healers across the tropics reached for it season after season, especially for the breath and the chest. Its English folk name, the “asthma-plant,” records that long respiratory reputation. We take the whole herb, shade-dried in the traditional way and milled single-ingredient into a vegan capsule — the monsoon healer’s herb, clean and ready.
What Makes This Different
- Whole herb, single ingredient. Whole-plant Euphorbia hirta powder — no fillers, binders, flow agents or extract dilution. Vegan capsule shell.
- The whole plant, as tradition uses it. Siddha works with the entire aerial herb; we use the whole plant, and say so.
- Naturally clean. A single-herb powder — naturally non-GMO and gluten-free, with nothing added.
- Certified base: FSSAI Central Licensed, GMP compliant, ISO 22000.
What It Does
- A traditional monsoon herb for the breath. Across Siddha and tropical folk medicine, Amman Pacharisi has long been brewed for clear, comfortable breathing — especially through damp, changing seasons.
- Naturally antioxidant-rich. Laboratory assays record notable free-radical-scavenging activity in the whole herb, tied to flavonoids such as quercetin, quercitrin and myricitrin (in vitro).
- Studied for a soothing, anti-inflammatory character. Whole-plant extracts have shown anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory models, echoing the herb’s traditional calming reputation (in vitro / animal).
- Traditionally supportive of everyday immune wellness. Laboratory work notes immunomodulatory activity in the whole plant, in keeping with its long folk use as a seasonal wellness herb (in vitro).
- Emerging angle — a quercetin-rich flavonoid profile. The herb’s quercetin-led flavonoids are an active area of research into the body’s inflammatory and seasonal responses (in vitro).

How to Take It
Take one veg capsule twice daily with water, as part of your routine — traditionally Amman Pacharisi is taken through damp and changing seasons. Best enjoyed as part of a seasonal routine, with breaks, rather than continuously over long periods. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, giving it to a child, or taking prescription medication, consult a healthcare professional before use.
